Get Involved!

Become involved in one of CHPA's dynamic committees today! More than one hundred of your colleagues and competitors actively participate in strengthening the corporate housing industry and the association. To sign up for a committee, please complete a volunteer form, contact the CHPA office or email one of the committee chairs directly .

CHPA Committee initiatives support the organization's strategic goals:

  • Brand: CHPA will increase the awareness of the corporate housing segment to the lodging industry.
  • Member Value: CHPA will increase the value of membership in the organization and members will understand the benefits of belonging.

  • Education: CHPA members will benefit from quality, valued and easily accessible education and training to help them operate their businesses more efficiently, professionally and profitably.

  • Communication: CHPA will be the leading source of information on corporate housing, both internally and externally.
  • Industry Relations: CHPA will establish strong relationships with related industries and other associations in order to advance its purpose and achieve its vision.
  • Industry Advocated: CHPA will be a resource for members on local, regional and nation issues that have larger implications for the corporate housing industry.


CHPA 2007 Committees

Communications Committee

Focus: CHPA will be the leading source of information on corporate housing, both internally and externally.

Current Initiatives:

  • Drive members to website
  • Drive usage of online discussion groups and information sharing
  • Compile on line reference library with a searchable database
  • Communicate certification progress
  • Create greater awareness of the value of CHPA programs and services
  • Increase public understanding of CH
  • Create press releases on pertinent issues to CH industry
  • Provide supporting documents for industry relations committee and immediate past president

Conference Committee

Focus: Developing a continuous and exciting annual conference aimed at attracting providers globally, building on the knowledge base of the industry and introducing new exhibitors' products and services to members

Current Initiatives:

  • Create ‘playbook' on how to create a successful conference
  • Determine a regular rotation cycle
  • Healthy mix of speakers, inside and outside to address current topics for all levels of attendance
  • Increase profits to conference; more companies and depth in current companies
  • Create consistent image to represent CHPA
  • Make conference information available to non-attendees in some format

This committee collaborates with the Education and Membership Services Committees, as well as meets separately to plan the CHPA Annual Conference.

Program Subcommittee

Focus: To develop the educational program for the Annual Conference on key topics of interest and relevance to the CHPA membership

Current Initiatives:

  • Identifying dynamic and knowledgeable speakers outside the membership to share their expertise at the conference
  • Securing speakers for all conference program sessions, including keynote speakers
  • Developing educational sessions on topics of interest to CHPA members

Education Committee

Focus: CHPA members will benefit from quality, valued and easily accessible education and training to help them operate their businesses more efficiently, professionally and profitably.

Current Initiatives:

  • Development of the industry specific CH certification program
  • Establish industry terms
  • Establish reference sources for use in the CH industry
  • Increase our understanding of the educational needs for content, delivery and priority
  • Session evaluations tally
  • Increase our ability to deliver educational programming desired by the membership
  • Facilitate round table discussions
  • Increase use of non-traditional delivery mechanisms, including technology

Industry Relations Committee

Focus: CHPA will establish strong relationships with related industries and other associations in order to advance its purpose and achieve its vision.

Current Initiatives:

  • E xpand network connection events to include affiliated industries
  • Identify potential associate members for follow up
  • Enhance the Buyer's Guide to make it a more useful resource
  • Act as spokes group for associate members
  • Capitalize on industry related opportunities on which we can make an impact (other conferences, trade shows, etc. where we should have a presence)
  • Establish relationships with key external organizations (Subchair of this should be a provider, not an associate member)

Membership Committee

Focus: CHPA will increase the value of membership in the organization and members will understand the benefits of belonging.

  • Increase our understanding of why people join and why they stay
  • Provide feedback from renewing and non-renewing members (provider/associate)
  • Recruit 35 new members
  • Engaging new members from 2005, so they ‘experience' the value and renew in 2006
  • Improve the level of connection of members at both national and regional levels
  • Continue offering Regional connection
  • Regional luncheons
  • Network connection events
  • Create programs to deliver recognition of exemplary members
  • Building Awards Program: clarifying criteria; providing samples on the website to ‘demystify' the selection process; proactive marketing to increase submissions
  • Establish and increase the number of group purchasing programs to increase value of membership
  • Credit card processing, affinity programs, etc.
